FOCUS QUÉBEC – GREETING

• Damien Pereira, Gouvernement du Québec
On
behalf of Government of Québec, I would like to express my deep appreciation to ISEA2025 hosts
to give many Quebecers the opportunity to take part in one of the major world’s digital arts
events.
This year, Québec brings out a strong delegation, Focus Québec, a group of 30
persons from various digital arts organizations (Elektra, Society for Arts and Technology,
Hexagram) and universities (NAD-UQAC School, Concordia university, University of Montréal). With
its unique expertise and talent, Québec will certainly contribute with brio to ISEA2025 Program.
For many years, Québec and Korea have developed close collaborations in the field of digital
arts. ISEA2025 in Seoul will deepen these collaborations while bringing new ideas and projects.
My sincere thanks to ISEA International, Art Center Nabi, SNU Institute for Culture and
Arts, and Seoul Arts Center for making possible that wonderful and electrifying event!
Bon
symposium!

Suh Dasom explores the
value of everyday labor and dedication, particularly through handcraft, translating daily experiences into
visual experiments. Her practice spans cooking, sewing, clay work, and drawing, forming the basis of her
project-based artistic inquiries.
Since 2019, her ongoing project, Practice Makes
Practice,
has engaged participants in a workshop format, fostering mutual learning through cooking. In collaboration
with ISEA2025, she explores how art gains deeper meaning when it moves beyond individual creation into
communal practice. Within a community, art becomes even more personal, and handcraft serves as a bridge
connecting people, nature, and even the transcendent. This process reflects a form of practice and discipline
embedded in everyday repetition.
