The National Gugak Center (NGC) is the representative national arts institution of the Republic of Korea that inherits Korean traditional performing arts. Continuing to inherit and develop music, songs, dances, and performances enjoyed in the past by the royal court and the general public, NGC creates and promotes contemporary and everyday music that resonates with modern sensibilities. Its interpretation of the longstanding traditions and performances is creating a new tradition that connects the past, present, and future. NGC will continue working passionately until the day when the beauty and charm of Korean traditional performing arts are appreciated by not only Koreans but also people around the world.

Seoul National University launched the ‘Institute for Culture and Arts (ICA)’ to well prepare the institution for the next stages of cultural rupture. Abandoning the traditional approach of opening a typical space for the arts like concert halls or art galleries, the university instead presents a post-cultural ecosystem. The institute envisions and desires a global network and integrative niche for creators to charge, connect, and create. SNU ICA operates four cultural spaces, including outdoor venues and student theatres, which transcend disciplinary boundaries to coalesce, providing a nesting ground for various forms of creativity to freely interact.

Seoul National University Museum of Art has always made efforts to present new and original art that reflects the times. Opening with the exhibition Invitation to Korean Art in 2006, Seoul National University Museum of Art has provided the public with exhibitions, events and education programs, while responding perceptively to changes of the times, such as trends in contemporary art, social issues and the roles of an art museum.
